My topic is new year resolutions. One person sounded like he was almost upset or complaining about the new year, saying his family, friends school, and now the New York Times was asking him about his resolution. He later went on to tell that he was going to do something simple like expanding his vocabulary and cleaning his room. Another girl, who sounded like she had made losing weight her resolution for a couple years now, decided it would be more healthy for her to gain weight.
My topic is "Do You spend to much time on facebook" Many people want to know how much time is to much on Facebook? I felt that a good amount of time to be on Facebook is about a half an hour a day
My topic was Are you to addicted to facebook? I use facebook, but don't spend hours upon hours on this site. However i thought that there might be a lot of teenagers that spend more than the ideal time on this social site. My first thought was 'How many teenagers are actually addicted to this?' I got this answer in the comments rather than the article. Many teenagers are addicted but there are a lot, maybe more than the addicted ones, that aren't addicted. i read through all of the comments and found that many of these everyday teenagers have better things to do then sit at home in front of a computer screen. A lot of these teenagers said things like they were to busy with sports, after school activities, and family. My second thought was ' Okay, there might not be a lot of addicted teenagers, but how do the addicted ones get treated?' I also found this answer in the article. Many teenagers are shutting down accounts. Some give passwords to a trusted adult telling them to change it and not allow them on until they get this under control. I was thinking about how many of these addicts are succeeding in this process and are actually getting back on top of their lives. My other thoughts turned to wonder how many teenagers at our school are sruggeling with this same issue.
I have always made resolutions for the new year but most of the time i never succeed in actually doing them. Halfway through the year i normally forget what i was trying to do. do you know how many of these teenagers are actually fulfilling their resolutions? Or how many of these teenagers actually are making resolutions?
my was about starting our own new business. they talk about how people so not know how to handel their own business. then because of that reason they help us by telling us some useful tips when we own a business.
My topic is on humour. Mostly in the section there are jokes from comedians and television show like the tonight with jay leno. etc. two questions i have about the topic of humour is: 1) what part of the body makes people laugh? 2) did somone start humour? like who was the fisrt comedian?

My topic is, "Is it a waste of time when a sudstitute is teaching in class instead of teacher?" Many commenters were saying that it is a waste of time when a sudstitute is teaching, which I kind of agree with because most of the time when we have a substitute in school we do puzzles or watch a movie. Some believe that substitute are mean and unfair, which I have heard many times in my school. Few believe that substitutes are good to you as long as you show them respect and behave properly with them, which I think is correct. There are statistic on the blog page that state that many substitutes get the jod even though they did not take training and schools hire them without taking interview. My first thought was that how many students think that substitutes are mean and unfair? and why? And my second thought was that how many students think that substitutes teach students as good as a teachers or even better then teachers? because there were some commenters that said that sudstitutes are better than teachers. If any of you (Ms. North's first period class) have any questions about my topic add it to your response.
It is a reward to relax and let yourself go loose after your seven hours of required education. No, you don't have to read books 24/7. But the point of this article was showing people to look at how long you actually spend on this site. It is ok to spend an hour hour and a half on the computer but it gets a little ridiculous when you are on it none stop for more then three and a half on the computer. It is also bad when you are having that come before your school work and have your grades suffer because facebook was more important.
Charlotte- I think many people are addicted to facebook because in the beginning of the school year some people came to school to talk about online predators and they asked students who goes to facebook? and how many students have facebook account? and three forth of students in media center raised their hands. And also I have heard people about accounts online and many said that they have facebook account.
I agree with you. Most of the time when you have a substitute you either do puzzles, watch a movie, or do worksheets. I think you don't really get the same education when you don't have your real teacher because most of the time people don't respect the substitute like they do with the real teachers.

Dear Charlotte, I don't think I'm really addicted to Facebook, although I do spend a good amount of time on it. It has all my friends from my old school on it so it's a good way to keep in touch. I always go on when I'm bored, log off, then get on later.
Charlotte, I do not know how many teenagers actually follow through with their resolutions, but I'm sure not many. Not very many people ever follow through at any age.
My topic is on have you ever been part or had a hoax or prank put on you or have you ever done it to anyone else. And it told about a hoax that was played on 4,900 people at a highschool. About how school was cancled the nexted day 1. How do you send that many emails or messages to that many people? 2. Who could think of something like that.

Katie- Many people make new year resolutions but they just do it for about three to four weeks and then they forget about it. I do not make any resolution because I never succeed in doing them and I think that they are not so important. I think you should find out how many people are able to do it all year? or maybe what people think about new year resolution.
My topic is words that were overused in the year 2009. One person in this blog was getting really into answering the blog, he was getting almost angry, and you could very easily tell that he was. He was saying that online words like "lol" "omg" "lmao" and stuuf like that were overused and i agree, but i think he got a little too into it.
I don't think someone 'invented' humor. I think it just comes naturally to the body. If something is funny then you laugh. It's something natural that we all do at some point. As for the what part of our bodies make us laugh. I'm not sure but it is involving your vocal cords. I think humor is natural and everybody does it. It has been going on since the bigging of time.
to charlotte : how many teens make resolutions? like three out of ten mabey because they think that if they make this they'll get it done only to find out at the end of the year they end up making the same resolution they made the last year
Scott, I noticed that your topic is similar if not the same to Charlotte's. I agree a half hour a day is a good amount of time but now there are so many applications on Facebook that you could probably spend all day on it. Now, there isn't just communicating.
This is to Kyle Green I think you are right about someone did start humor think it was people from Greece and Rome that started do plays that had different types of humoress things in it like slapstick.
Facebook is an excellent way to keep in touch with friends and family that you don't see very often. I do exactly what you so. I only spend up to an hour an a half tops each day on the computer. Many teenagers are addicted and et it rule their lives. Others have more self control with it and also have better things to do other then facebook.
Tj mills- I think person who want a revange or who do not care about hurting other people would do things like put pranks on people. And a person who is lazy would sit on computer whole day/night and keep snding useless e-mails.
to Scott Nichel: I think that some people do spend too much time on facebook, because why would you sit on the computer for an half an hour of the day. i can see if you are talking to a friend that live far away of if you setting up your page,but if your talking to the same people that you see every day thats just over rated when you can hand out at the mall or movies or something.

My Topic is What you want to see in 2010, mine personally is the introduction of a PDA type device, but it has the power of a computer made in 2009, but it has a program on it which has Full Human capability of emotion and thought, and be able to converse with humans and share opinions, and can battle any virus, despite what computer it was made for, and the method would be via specially programmed SD Cards that contain a digital weapon, like a sword or rocket launcher, and use that to battle the viruses, like a video game, and if you lose, the virus is automatically deleted, and a damage report is give to you to show and tell you what part of the program has been damaged, and whether you can repair it or not. and if you cant, you need to take it to a specialist to fix it, and you can also use the internet to make phone calls, IM, post to any website, and battle other programs, and be the start of a new wave of technology, one of the new digital revolution.
to kyle green: to be honest with you I think the part of te body that makes humans laugh is the stomach because when you laugh to hard ou stomach starts hurting. and the first comedian was like in the cave man age i think.

My topic was A hoax email that tricked 4,900 students into thinking that there was no school the day back from the winter break at Brooklyn Technical High school in New York. I have been tricked by texts and emails before, and based other kids blogs they were too. A lot of kids were happy that there was no school but were unhappy when they found out that they had been fooled. One of the bloggers said "Not a good way to start the year." I agree with that statement.

Joseph, more than half of all new businesses fail because people do not know how to run their shops, or do not have a good gimmick. It is sad to see how much money and time is wasted.
TJ, pranks are really common no matter how old you are, and it is amazing how many high school students do all sorts of crazy stuff. But, some people don't find practical jokes funny, so it's not a good idea!

My topic is about "Do You spend to much time on facebook" this topic was all about facebook and if anyone spent to much time on it. Many people thought it affected grades for young people and got in the way and made people addicted to it. Others think that it is a great organizer and helps pass time but dosn't get in the way and its not addictive and it also lets them stay in touch with friends. I personally think that it can get in the way for people and can get addicting and drop grades but only for some people. But other people it isn't to addictive and they just use it to keep in touch with friends and keep organized and can space there time with it and not get addicted to it.

Deep Patel, i would would have to disagree that Subsitute teachers are a waist of time when they teach a class other than the real teacher because not all times do substitute teachers let you watch movie and play games there are also acadimic parts. also its always good to learn a subject from more than one teaching because if you do there are more "gates open on how you learn" and it gives you a break from the same teacher you see and learn from everyday.

I am responding to Katies blog i agree that it is challenging to pick a new years resolution that is why I don't have new years resolutions because how is 2010 going to be different then 2009, most people usually get lazy and end up not following through on there resolution anyway.
I am responding to deeps blog. I think that subsitute teachers are a waste of time because they dont know as much about what there teaching as the teachers do and students tend not to pay much attention to the subsitute teachers while they are teaching.

I think that students dont show enough respect towards a substitute because they think they dont have to listen to them because she " cant tell them what to do." because shes not actually the techer. Well i think that students need to show a little more respct towards substitues. Its not that easy to teach a bunch of adolescents that you have never even met before.

I am responding to Cole I agree that people are starting to write essays and blogs in the same way that they text. This can cause problems for teachers who don't understand what some words mean, because there not real words.
Deep- I agree, while there are some subs that have skill in whatever class they sub for, most are just unfair, bitter, and several don't even do what the teacher says the sub has to teach, so yeah, somewhat of a time waster.
My topic was on substitutes that waste class time because they do not know what they are teaching the students. The blogger was complaning about the way substitutes have no idea what they are teaching.One boy talked about how the substitutes should always know what they are teachin before hand so they dont waste class time trying to figure it out. Another girl said that this only applies to a small group of subs and that we shouldnt label the dubstitute teachers.
My name is Lionel and my topic is about how is Facebook making teenagers addicted to it. The two major thoughts that i have about this topic is that teenagers are thinking about Facebook so much that they don't think about school. They start to make bad grades and start to fail. The other major thought is teenagers try to make friends with other people from school on this social network but the other teenagers don't want to be friends with them because they don't like them. Katie- Many people I know don't follow their resolutions, either because of lack of confidence, money, or just didn't do it, which completely contradicts the need for a resolution.

My topic was " Do social sites like Face-book ruin your relationships in the real world." I found that the comments posted had shown that someone was dumped and found that the new girlfriend of her ex. had posted everything they did together.

Scott Nickel- I found that your topic somewhat intertwines with mine. The topic i chose says that some people on Face-Book will post a hurtful blog or photo and upset the person they are talking to. If people didn't spend so much time on Face-Book then maybe complete strangers met on it wont learn of your life and mess with you. I agree with what you say even though i have not used Face-Book myself. I only know from experience because i know of friends who use Face-Book.
Dear Scott Nickel, There I agree with that people spend too much time on facebook my loving sister has gone three days straight with out facebook due to a decline in academics facebook is a demon to the mind of a young adult.

Scott Nickel, Half an hour, really? I spend at the minimum of 5 and a half hours a day just playing Farmville and Zoo World. I guess that means I spend too much time on Facebook.

Scott nickel: my subject is the same as yours and I think that I spend too much time on face book if the reasonable amount of time on face book is half an hour because I usually spend about an hour and a half.
josephgeorge, my neighbor where i previously lived owned a small bussiness it was a barber shop. in the beginning she said that she had just gotten out of hair styling school and was just whinging it now thirty years later she has become aware of her actions, she told me that the best way to make a small bussiness is trial and error
Kyle Green, I love humor... To answer the first I think it would either be the butt or the armpit, and as for the second question I guess when someone hurt themselves and everybody laughed at it is when humor started. I don't know the exact person.
kyle green, i believe i can answer your querry's one one specific part of the brain makes people laugh but if you want to know what makes the noise that would be your vocal cords, 2nd humor has always been with us even back when we were caveman say some caveman man was carrying a rock and dropped it on his to those around him would laugh so those hopefully will answer your questions

deep patel, i do agree with some of the bloggers. i think the reason that most substitutes are mean and unfair is because they don't want to be taken advantege of how many times have you had a nice substitute and he or she was taken advantege of by the class another point is it is usually the older subs that are mean maybe because they think they know how to "handel us" but really only are real teacher can because they have been around us longer and know how we tick and how to make us work for them.

My topic was Are you to addicted to facebook? I use facebook, but don't spend hours upon hours on this site. However i thought that there might be a lot of teenagers that spend more than the ideal time on this social site. My first thought was 'How many teenagers are actually addicted to this?' I got this answer in the comments rather than the article. Many teenagers are addicted but there are a lot, maybe more than the addicted ones, that aren't addicted. i read through all of the comments and found that many of these everyday teenagers have better things to do then sit at home in front of a computer screen. A lot of these teenagers said things like they were to busy with sports, after school activities, and family. My second thought was ' Okay, there might not be a lot of addicted teenagers, but how do the addicted ones get treated?' I also found this answer in the article. Many teenagers are shutting down accounts. Some give passwords to a trusted adult telling them to change it and not allow them on until they get this under control.
I was thinking about how many of these addicts are succeeding in this process and are actually getting back on top of their lives. My other thoughts turned to wonder how many teenagers at our school are sruggeling with this same issue.

It is a reward to relax and let yourself go loose after your seven hours of required education. No, you don't have to read books 24/7. But the point of this article was showing people to look at how long you actually spend on this site. It is ok to spend an hour hour and a half on the computer but it gets a little ridiculous when you are on it none stop for more then three and a half on the computer. It is also bad when you are having that come before your school work and have your grades suffer because facebook was more important.

I don't think someone 'invented' humor. I think it just comes naturally to the body. If something is funny then you laugh. It's something natural that we all do at some point. I agree with that statement.

The two major thoughts that i have about this topic is that teenagers are thinking about Facebook so much that they don't think about school. They start to make bad grades and start to fail. The other major thought is teenagers try to make friends with other people from school on this social network but the other teenagers don't want to be friends with them because they don't like them. Starts to make fights and arguments in school.

I found that your topic somewhat intertwines with mine. The topic i chose says that some people on Face-Book will post a hurtful blog or photo and upset the person they are talking to. If people didn't spend so much time on Face-Book then maybe complete strangers met on it wont learn of your life and mess with you. I agree with what you say even though i have not used Face-Book myself. I only know from experience because i know of friends who use Face-Book.

kyle green, i believe i can answer your querry's one one specific part of the brain makes people laugh but if you want to know what makes the noise that would be your vocal cords, 2nd humor has always been with us even back when we were caveman say some caveman man was carrying a rock and dropped it on his to those around him would laugh so those hopefully will answer your questions

deep patel, i do agree with some of the bloggers. i think the reason that most substitutes are mean and unfair is because they don't want to be taken advantege of how many times have you had a nice substitute and he or she was taken advantege of by the class another point is it is usually the older subs that are mean maybe because they think they know how to "handel us" but really only are real teacher can because they have been around us longer and know how we tick and how to make us work for them.

The bloggers that commented this topic were Dave Ragaini and Sarah Davison.there are some garnered responses then others because most people were engaged with certain posts.times blogger have thought reading the student comments are they would expect at least some people to have bad comments,for example most adults would expect students to say something mean about a boring topic.these comments did not affect my experiences as a reader at all.

tj, when i get hoax emails like that i normally just pay no attention to them and forget about them. but when 4900 people are getting pranked like this, the law should come into action and do something about this. especially if its this serious
